Workshop discussion with Anna Unterstab (exhibition designer) and others and Dr. Lotte Warnsholdt (curator at MARKK)
Anyone who has visited the exhibition KATZEN! may recall the pink cat sofa, the fluffy plush wall, or the leopard-print curtain. Such design elements point to cultural meanings that have changed over time. In a conversation, the designers discuss this unique exhibition design with the curator.

Anarchivist Practices

Discussion with Annelize Kotze (curator of social history), Lucy Campbell (social scientist and cultural heritage activist), Glen Arendse (artist), and other guests, in English. Moderator: Dr. Memory Biwa
This discussion will focus on resistant archival practices in the context of current restitution debates. The term “anarchivist” is a portmanteau of “anarchy” and “archivist” that circulates in English-language discourse on decolonial work with collections and archives to stimulate a more progressive engagement with “the archive” and archival practice.

Join the curator on a guided tour of the exhibition “Label: Jewish” and discover the stories behind the exhibits.The focus is on long-lost objects from the Hamburg Society for Jewish Folklore, as well as questions of provenance, memory, and attribution. The tour also offers insights into provenance research and the history of the museum during and after the Nazi era.Museum admission not included.
