In our event series “Tales of the World,” we share stories from different cultures that appeal to audiences of all ages. Sometimes exciting, sometimes surprising, sometimes thought-provoking, these narratives open up a variety of perspectives and invite visitors to discover and experience different storytelling traditions together.

Three exhibitions in Hamburg are currently exploring Jewish collections and figures. The panel discussion will examine the underlying approach to collection holdings. What do the processes of reviewing, selecting and dealing with the history of objects and museum documentation entail in terms of attributions and categorisations of what is ‘Jewish’?

You will learn the fundamental hand-building techniques (slab, coil, pinch, and constructive building) and gain an understanding of the entire ceramic process: from design planning and building to drying and firing. No prior experience required.

We are delighted to welcome the eeden series ‘Resistance x Life’ and the sociologist Dr Rosa Burç to the MARKK. Learning about and exploring the world — both within and without — can continue throughout one’s life. Throughout one’s life, a person can grow, learn new things, rediscover old ones, shed layers and transform. Learning to truly be human in times of dehumanisation, oppression, fascist tendencies, military build-up, warmongering and exploitation. Exploring the artificial walls and borders, trenches and chasms that lie between us, which we maintain sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously. So how can we learn and grow in solidarity and resistance in these times? How can we live, rather than merely survive?Tickets
