Maja and Bastarda

Performance by Laila Tafur, dancer and choreographer

The dance performance Maja and Bastarda by choreographer Laila Tafur is part of the Baila España festival, which is taking place in Hamburg for the first time.

In her work, Tafur combines elements of flamenco with urban, pop-cultural, and ritual forms of expression, exploring how cultural identities are continuously reshaped through movement, sound, and storytelling. The performance offers thought-provoking perspectives on questions of origin, belonging, and cultural exchange. Laila Tafur is one of the leading voices in the contemporary Spanish dance scene, combining choreographic research with humour, physicality, and critical reflection.

This event is presented in cooperation with Instituto Cervantes.

Language: German
