Open Call: Design for our summer garden

A meeting place is to be created in the MARKK courtyard from June 14 to September 7, 2025! The inner courtyard, including the awning, is to be extended so that it becomes an inviting temporary meeting place in the summer months, a place to exchange ideas and eat together, but also to take a break. The design can set selective impulses and blend in with the existing architecture. We will open an after-work bar on Thursday evenings, while the space will also be accessible to families during the day. This format will be accompanied by artistic interventions and listening sessions, including by the RIAA crew, who will play the museum’s own record collection. The “Summer Garden” will be officially opened on June 14, 2025.

For the design of this format, we are looking for creative ideas that take up the inner courtyard as a place of encounter and enliven it artistically and creatively.
